Çiftçiler oil company has been established in 1965 in Şuhut
town of Afyon province by Süleyman Çiftçi. Our company, which
has started production in a small workshop, has developed itself
with healthy and delicious productions since the day it was
established. As a result of this development it has started
its first enterprise in Afyon Organised Industry region in 1992
and continues its activities while becoming a corporation.
Our company is established in Afyon Organised Industry Region on 10.000m2, of which 4.000 m2 is roofed space. It has a total of 48 experienced personnel, 40 in the production department of the factory, 8 in the management department of the factory, and continues to produce 24 hours a day with the most advanced technology of the date.
Our company, in the establishment dates, aimed to present the edible refined hazelnut oil, produced from the world accepted delicious hazelnuts, to its customers.
As a result of this, though the initial target was home market, our production has also spread to international market as the demand increased.
Our company, which sold only to the home market until 1966, did its first export to Italy. Our hazelnut oil export to Italy developed and spread to countries like France, USA, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, and Japan. In 1996 our company achieved to be within the 6 company in Afyon province exporting companies’ ranking. In 2002 an export of $ 530.000 is done and this figure is expected to be $ 1.000.000 in 2003.
After the success in production of hazelnut oil and customer’s demand, the production of sunflower and corn oil were started.
Our company gets the hazelnuts used as raw material in the production of hazelnut oil from provinces like Trabzon, Giresun and Ordu in Black Sea region. There is around a 1.500.000 tons of hazelnut buyings in a year. Half of our products are exported to the foreign market as raw hazelnut oil and refined hazelnut oil. The benefit of the foreign trade for the country economy is inevitable. An export department has been established in our company to ensure the development of our current exports. Market researches has been done in the foreign countries and there are new countries to which sample or small parties of oil have been planned to be sold to ensure use and consumption of the hazelnut oil in different countries’ oil sectors.
Our company has the capacity to process 25 tons of hazelnuts, sunflowers, and corns a day. To increase the production capacity there will be additional investments and technology transfers summing $500.000 in 2003.
The greatest problems of all companies in Turkey are the high cost of energy consumption, worker wages and interest rates. Besides these, both the producers and the consumers are affected by the economical instability. Despite all setbacks our company has produced more and will continue to do so. Our efforts to make Çiftçiler Refined Hazelnut Oil a trade mark both in Turkey and in the world intensely continues.
